Financial sector

The financial sector is divided into two (2) sub sectors: Banking - covering only approved commercial banks in Nigeria and Fintechs- The fintech space is growing and gaining traction. Over the past five (5) years, Fintechs have made inroads and gained over a million subscribers post Covid:

Telecommunications

Also divided into two (2) sub sectors: GSM service providers - The GSM service providers cover the telephony aspect of telecoms while Internet Service Providers (ISP) covers the data and internet aspect of the telecommunication sector.

Online/e-commerce

Online shopping have come to stay and huge investments are springing up in this aspect of our society. It is important we gauge and evaluate services rendered by organizations in this sector as more citizens look to embrace online business.

Insurance

The insurance sector is also sub divided into two (2) key sectors in this industry; General insurance - cover the basic or traditional insurance policies; car, properties, shipping, aviation and all aspects. HMO’s - Health Management organizations play a key role in health insurance for citizens especially career professionals, workers and business persons. HMO’s play a key role and there are lots of them in Nigeria.

Transportation

The transport sector is divided into three (3).
Aviation- the air travel business is a key economic driver and is passenger/citizen oriented.
Intra-city transport - covers movement of passengers and citizens with a specific city.
Inter- State transport - covers movement of citizens, goods and services from one state (or major city) to the other.

Healthcare

The healthcare industry is a critical aspect of our societal life. We choose to sub divide this sector into Private health facilities and Public health institutions. It is important we segment this sector so as to aggregate and can rate level of service delivery for the private and public health services separately.

Public sector

This sector is divided into two (2) also: Government: ministries, departments & agencies (MDA’s) and Nigeria's foreign missions - survey and undertake ratings on our embassies, consulates and high commissions are rated as citizens when traveling abroad and in diaspora review level of service delivery by this missions.

Hospitality

This sector for the survey is sub divided into two (2) sub sectors: Hotels, Parks & Resorts - vacation spots, hangouts and holiday spots are revived So also Eateries, bars, clubs, lounges are rated separately to identify and rate services rendered.

Power

The NCSI covers only the distribution sector of the electricity value chain which is primarily consumer/citizens serviced. So this sector on the survey rates only the Distribution companies (Discos).

The survey with the report thereafter helps organizations in each sector gauge their state of service, measure sectorial growth vis-a-vis their standing.
